I-64 West in Putnam County reopens after vehicle fire

HURRICANE, W.Va. (WCHS) — UPDATED, 8:57 p.m. 9/29/25:
The westbound lanes of I-64 in Hurricane have reopened following a vehicle fire.
Emergency dispatchers said the fire happened Monday evening near the rest areas.
Nobody was injured.
Dispatchers said the road reopened about 8:40 p.m..

A vehicle fire has temporarily closed westbound lanes of Interstate 64 in Putnam County, dispatchers said.
Emergency dispatchers said the fire was reported Monday evening near the rest areas in Hurricane.
No injuries have been reported.
