UC Football flies past Notre Dame College 52-27
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — When the clock hit zeros, the University of Charleston not only came away with a 52-27 victory over the Mountain East Conference's reigning champions Notre College, but the Golden Eagles are now the leagues remaining undefeated team at 6-0.
UC got it done with a balanced offensive attack. Quarterback Javonte Howard was 20-of-29 passing for 261 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Howard connected with nine different receivers on the afternoon, and Yves Bosmans led the Golden Eagles receivers with 7 catches for 102 yards.
The offensive line kept Howard upright, as the QB was sacked just once, and created holes for a rushing attacked that netted 370 yards on the ground.
Chavon Wright led the way with 276 yards on 30 carries, finding the endzone 3 times. The sophomore averaged 9.2 yards per carry, and most of the day wouldn't go down on initial contact.
