Two men wanted on drug warrants in Wayne County were arrested over the weekend.

Andy “AJ” Maynard, 37, was taken into custody in Wayne County, while Harmon “Odell” Whitt, 41, was arrested in Mingo County, according to posts on the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

Maynard was arrested in the Prichard area by the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit for warrants from a previous investigation, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office said Maynard is charged with conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and possession with intent to deliver fentanyl after the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit collected pre-packaged fentanyl and digital scales.

Methamphetamine and pills were found on a second suspect that has already been arrested, the sheriff’s office said. Another person present for Maynard’s arrest was also arrested for warrants unrelated to the investigation.

Maynard was already out on bond from a 2022 drug and firearm investigation by the drug enforcement unit.

Meanwhile, Whitt was arrested in Mingo County on various charges including warrants stemming from an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit, the sheriff’s said.

The investigation was conducted between Crum and Dunlow.

Whitt is charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, conspiracy to distribute heroin, and pseudoephedrine altered. Another suspect has already been arrested in this investigation.

Maynard is currently being held in the Western Regional Jail on a $30,000 surety/cash bond, while Whitt is currently being held at Southwestern Regional Jail on a $10,000 cash only bond.
