Stay Fit: Stretches(SBG)

We know everyone is doing their best at home to stay busy and stay active, but without the right equipment at home, you could feel stuck about how to stay active while maintaining social distance.

Sometimes in our quest to get healthy, we have to slow down to speed up the process. We've got a great head to toe recovery session for you to reward yourself after all your hard work.

One of the best ways to do that is to take a break from the workouts and spend some time stretching!

Stretching is a great way to drain some of the lactic acid from your system( the stuff that causes soreness), and also make yourself less likely to get injured in the long term.

The first stretch will do wonders for your back and hamstrings, stand up tall and reach towards the ceiling as high as you can. From here let your hands fall, and roll your back down slowly so you are dropping towards your toes.

Do not reach or force yourself down towards your toes, I just want you to fall and go as low as your body lets you without any extra help. This is a passive stretch that will let you loosen up your lower back, stay down there for about 2 minutes, and when you're ready, roll yourself up nice and slow until you get back up to a standing position.

The second stretch starts with you kneeling on the floor. From here, step forward with your right foot and let your hips sink toward your front ankle. You'll feel this in your hip more as it drops down. Again, don't force just lean gently into it.

After 2 minutes here, switch to the other side and get the same stretch.

From here we should really work on those shoulders, so lets kneel down by our couches or chairs or whatever we have handy, put your arms out in front of you, palms on the seat of the couch or chair, reach your hips back and let your head drop between your arms.

We're just looking to find a stretch, just find the edges of where we can go, so no forcing here either... just fall.

When you're ready pop back up, and you're ready to take on the day!
