SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — The South Cardinals were able to make a defensive stand in overtime against the North Bears to hold onto a 21-20 win Saturday.
Fairmont Senior's Dylan Ours scored all three of the North's touchdowns.
The South tied the game at 7 in the third quarter on a touchdown pass from Mingo Central quarterback Chris Ross to Clay County receiver BJ Williams. The Cardinals took the lead on a long toss from Scott QB Matt Frye to Bluefield receiver RJ Hairston.
In overtime, the South went up 21-20 on a quarterback keeper from Wayne County's Sawyer VanMatre.
