Exit 6 of I-64 in in Cabell County to close for overnight bridge inspection

CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A bridge inspection will affect drivers in Cabell County Thursday evening into Friday morning, highway officials said.
Inspection of the James River Road Overpass Bridge will temporarily close U.S. 52 at exit 6 of Interstate 64, according to a news release from the West Virginia Division of Highways.
The news release said the closure will run from 8 p.m. on Oct. 30 to 6 a.m. on Oct. 31, allowing for a detailed inspection of the new span.
The DOH noted traffic will follow a temporary detour, utilizing U.S. 60 and the 29th Street exit of Interstate 64.
Following the inspection, the DOH expects the bridge to reopen with no additional changes to traffic.
Drivers are asked to remain cautious, watch for slow or stopped traffic in the area and obey all posted signs along with stationed law enforcement.
