Fayette County’s prosecutor said a man was sentenced to prison for felony drug-related crimes after Mount Hope police found large quantities of drugs and more than $6,000 in cash during a search of an apartment.

Michael R. Clark Sr., 49, formerly of Hilltop, was sentenced Tuesday to a maximum of 50 years in prison, according to a news release Thursday from Prosecutor Anthony Ciliberti.

Clark was sentenced to 20 years for conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver fentanyl, heroin and methamphetamine and not less than two years or more than 30 years for possession of meth with the intent to deliver.

Under Circuit Judge Thomas Ewing’s order, the sentences are to be served consecutively. The judge doubled the possible penalty as Clark had a prior drug-related felony conviction. Clark must serve a minimum of seven years in prison before being eligible for parole.

The prosecutor said Mount Hope police on June 8, 2020, were looking for a missing person at Stadium Apartments. When they went to an apartment, an officer found a large amount of fentanyl, meth and a heroin-fentanyl mixture and currency under a bed, the prosecutor said.
