Kickoff time set for Marshall's home matchup against Old Dominion

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — Marshall football’s next home matchup has a kickoff time.
The Thundering Herd will host Sun Belt Conference foe Old Dominion for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff in Huntington on Oct. 11, according to a news release from Marshall Athletics. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
The contest will mark the first home conference game in the Tony Gibson era. The Herd lost its Sun Belt opener in a 54-51 thriller at Louisiana on Saturday.
Marshall’s matchup against the Monarch pits two teams vying for the SBC East Division title against each other. The Herd holds a 9-1 all-time record against ODU, including a 5-0 mark in Huntington.
However, three of the last four matchups have been one-score games, including last year’s 42-35 contest in Norfolk, Va.
The Oct. 11 contest will also serve as the "We Are Herd Strong" contest where Marshall Athletics honors and remembers those who have been impacted by cancer.
