Jackson Kerr scores 4 TDs in Williamstown's 46-26 Friday Night Rivals victory over Wayne

WAYNE, W.Va. (WCHS) — The final week of Eyewitness News' 2025 Go-Mart Friday Night Rivals season featured a Class AA showdown between the Williamstown Yellow Jackets and the Wayne Pioneers, both 3-5 entering the game.
In the first ever matchup between the two teams, it was the road team Williamstown who made the trip to Wayne County and came away with the win, and a dominating one at that. The Yellow Jackets posted a 46-26 victory over the Pioneers.
Wayne received the ball to start the game, but both teams exchanged three-and-out punts to start the game. However on Wayne's second drive, RB Kaiden Hayton took off on a 35-yard run for the first score of the game. The two-point conversion failed leaving Wayne with an early 6-0 lead to start the game.
Williamstown answered with a touchdown of its own courtesy of QB Breck Allen. Allen then ran the two-point conversion in himself to give the Yellow Jackets an 8-6 lead.
Wayne then put the ball in Hayton's hands once again on the ensuing drive, once again only settling for six as the Pioneers took a 12-8 lead.
Williamstown answered once again, as Jackson Kerr scored the rushing touchdown. Allen once again took the two-point conversion in to give the Yellow Jackets a 16-12 lead.
Williamstown tacked on another touchdown towards the end of the half, this time with Jack Moore punching it in. Allen then scored his third two-point conversion of the night to make it 24-12 for the Yellow Jackets.
Wayne was unable to score before the half ended, and Williamstown started the second half with the ball. The Yellow Jackets nearly had a 70-yard touchdown run on the opening play of the half, but the run was negated by a penalty. Instead, the drive ended in an interception for the Pioneers.
Wayne couldn't do anything with the ball, sending it back to the Yellow Jackets. Williamstown marched methodically down the field before Kerr scooted into the endzone for his second touchdown of the night. Allen converted his fourth two-point attempt as the Yellow Jackets extended the lead to 32-12.
The ensuing Wayne drive ended in an interception for Williamstown that buried the Yellow Jackets deep in Wayne's redzone. That didn't matter though, because the Yellow Jackets once again trotted down the field, and it was Kerr who once again made the touchdown run.
For the first time all evening, the two-point conversion failed, leaving the score at 38-12.
Wayne responded with a touchdown of its own to cut the deficit back down to 20 courtesy of a 60-yard touchdown pass.
Kerr then scored his otherworldly fourth touchdown of the night to break the Yellow Jackets into the 40-point barrier as Williamstown converted its fifth touchdown of the night to make it 46-18.
Wayne tacked on one more touchdown courtesy of Kaiden Hayton's third touchdown of the night, but by then it was too little too late as Williamstown went on to take the 46-26 victory.
Kerr was named the Go-Mart Player of the Game after carrying the ball 20 times for 174 yards and putting up four of Williamstown's six touchdowns.
Williamstown moves to 4-5 and heads home for its final game of the season against Scott on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, Wayne falls to 3-6 and will hit the road for its final game of the season against Sissonville, also at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7.
