A man in Huntington has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a teen from drug use in July, authorities said.

Tony Eldon Lee Jr., of Huntington, faces multiple charges stemming from the nearly four-month-old incident, according to Chief Phil Watkins of the Huntington Police Department.

Watkins said Lee's arrest came after a 15-year-old teen died from cardiac arrest on July 19 due to methamphetamine intoxication. Huntington police said an investigation following his death revealed that Lee, who was dating the teen's mother at the time, had sold him illegal narcotics just prior to his death.

According to Watkins, a warrant for Lee's arrest was put out after receiving the complete autopsy report from the Medical Examiner's Office.

On Sunday, Huntington police said they found Lee in the west end of Huntington. After originally providing officers with a false name, Watkins said officers confirmed his correct identity and was promptly arrested.

Lee faces charges of delivery of a controlled substance causing death, as well as obstruction, on top of two unrelated warrants of misdemeanor battery and destruction of property.

Watkins said Lee has a "lengthy criminal history with multiple felony convictions," one of those being another delivery of a controlled substance charge in 2015.
