HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced on Tuesday an executive order will create the Hershel "Woody" Williams Statue Commission.
The commission will guide state efforts to place a statue in the National Statuary Hall Collection at the U.S. Capitol.
The commission will be made up of leaders of state government, lawmakers and the public to educate others on the face, name and deeds of Williams.
"I hope they see his smile first. His smile was so infectious and I hope they see his humbleness," Williams' grandson Brent Casey told Eyewitness News.
