Charleston's Hannah Meyer hit a 3-run homer in the fifth inning of the first elimination game on Saturday.

The University of Charleston softball team had their backs to the wall and responded with a doubleheader win against second seeded West Chester to not only stave off elimination but also advance in the NCAA Tournament.

UC took game one 8-6 and 7-1 in game two to punch their ticket to the Super Regional of the NCAA Tournament.

Hannah Rose gave UC a 1-0 lead in game one with a first inning homerun and Hannah Meyer's three-run homer in the 5th inning was the difference maker.

In game two, Rose would homer again and Bella Andujar and Allysa Lake each homered to power Charleston to victory.

The Golden Eagles practice t-shirts read "more to prove" and UC will try to do just that in the next round.
