Countdown to Kickoff (Edition 42) Skyhawks want to soar during Dolin's last year as coach

MADISON, W.Va. (WCHS) — The Scott Skyhawks reached the second round of the postseason a year ago before bowing out to Roane County. It's a case of doing some reloading as the 2025 season looms.
Head coach Jeremy Dolin feels confident returning players can help the Skyhawks soar this season.
"We lost a lot of talent over the last four years since I've been here," Dolin said. "We had 12 seniors last year. five All-State guys we have to replace. We're going to be young. We have a pretty good senior class. We've got a real good incoming freshmen class. We've got some young guys that are going to have to fill those holes to make up for some of the veteran leadership that we lost last year."

On this year’s roster is Cayden Sharps who remains a threat in the Skyhawks’ passing game.
"I'm extremely excited. I think we have the tools we need to compete with a lot of teams this year,” Sharps said. “I'm hyped for the season for sure."
Teammate Mason Brown will be working the ground game.
"We've just got a lot of heart,” Brown said. “People don't think we've got a chance to do anything. I can tell you right now that isn’t true. Heart and physicality. that's what we're about."
This season will be bittersweet at Scott High School as Dolin coaches his final Skyhawk team.
“It's been an honor to be the head coach here. This is my final season,” Dolin told Eyewitness Sports. “I just want to enjoy my time with the boys and win as many football games as we can. Hopefully, have some postseason success like we've had the last four years."
Scott opens the season Friday at Chapmanville.
