Could Sharna Burgess join 'DWTS' as a judge? Brian Austin Green thinks she’s ready
Could “Dancing with the Stars” alum Sharna Burgess join the judges’ table? Her fiancé, actor Brian Austin Green, certainly thinks so.

In a new interview with entertainment reporter Courtney Tezeno, Green opened up about Burgess’s future on “DWTS,” their family life with 3-year-old son Zane, and their evolving wedding plans.
When asked who their household is rooting for this season, Green revealed, “I’m a big fan of Ezra [Sosa],” who is partnered with Olympian Jordan Chiles. He also praised returning pro Mark Ballas, adding, “His musicality, and what he choreographs what they did last night with the Green Day song was just so good,” referring to him and Whitney Leavitt’s Jazz routine to “Brain Stew” by Green Day on Halloween night.

But when Tezeno floated the idea of Burgess returning to DWTS as a judge instead of a pro, Green was quick to support it. “I would, yeah,” he agreed. “She’s a really good judge. She judges 'Dancing with the Stars in Australia,' and she’s fantastic at it.”
After welcoming son Zane in 2022, Burgess stepped away from the U.S. competition series, but Green clarified that the decision was fully hers. “She chose to take that time off after Zane was born because she really valued that time,” he said. “We genuinely don’t feel like [the show] thought, ‘Oh, a mother, it’s just too much’ because they've had other pros on the show that have had kids and then have bounced right back and have continued to do the show.”
Now, Burgess is thriving in new creative spaces, including a podcast segment called “Sharna Burgess in the 4th chair” recapping DWTS on Danielle Fishel’s ‘Danielle with the Stars’ podcast. Green adds that his fiancée has a growing passion for comedy and production at home. “We do our fair share of dancing,” he laughed. “But it’s evolved more with acting and theater. We’re doing these fun commercials and skits for brands. It’s sort of acting class at home.”
As for their wedding? Don’t expect a Hollywood-sized celebration. “It was a much grander spectacle in her mind early on,” Green admitted. “I think now she’s so much more about just family. It’s gotten smaller but more intimate.”

Whether or not Burgess joins the DWTS judges’ table, Green says she’s already found her rhythm, “She’s really good at trying new things she’s finding this new version of herself at 40, figuring out who she wants to be now. It’s cool.”
Tonight is the 20th Birthday Party for “Dancing with the Stars,” which airs Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu.
