Three things to do in Santa Fe, the #1 city in the U.S.

SANTA FE, N.M. (Amazing America TV) — In case you missed it, in July 2025, Santa Fe, New Mexico, was named the #1 U.S. City by Travel & Leisure, a huge honor and a title previously claimed by Charleston, South Carolina, for 12 consecutive years.
We decided to do some digging and find out what makes Santa Fe so special.
Here are just a few must-stop spots in Santa Fe sure to make for an award-winning visit. Art, history and margaritas await!
- Loretto Chapel (207 Old Santa Fe Trail) This Gothic-Revival style chapel was completed in 1878, and it’s an architectural marvel. The chapel is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- San Miguel Mission (401 Old Santa Fe Trail) Another beautiful Santa Fe must-see, this is believed to be the oldest church in the continental U.S. Built between 1610 and 1626, the building still has its original walls. San Miguel Mission is open daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Coyote Cafe & Cantina (132 Water St.) This vibrant, fun spot serves up some of the best margaritas around, as well as amazing southwestern cuisine. They’re open daily from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
